What is a logo design and why it's important to your business

I'm going to start off by telling you what a logo design is and how to effectively use one. First a logo should be a simple piece of art quickly conveying what the company does or the type of imagery needs to give the user the feeling the owner wants. To obtain the sales you will need to do this and get a professional logo. You can't just leave it in the hands of a designer who doesn't know anything and if you do, it could then severely damage your business in so many ways. Instead of trying to clean up the mess in the future it's just best to get a professional to do the job the first time. If you are unsuccessful at finding the right designer to do the job then I would suggest looking on ebay, craigslist and as many social network type websites around. If you can do that or use forums then you can find the designer that's just right for your project. Another important fact to remember is don't use a designer because their prices were extremely cheap. If you have no other budget for a logo design then that's understandable but don't use them because you're being cheap. It will cost you alot more than what they charged you in the end and that's not what business is about.

The reason it's vital to your business's lifeline to get a logo is because if you're competing with thousands or even millions, then how in the world are you going to stand above them?  Remember your product can be amazing but without getting it to the right people it's going to be a failure for you. If you are targeting millions of people you definitely have to have the potential clients motivated to do what you want them to do. A lousy campaign is made of grammar mistakes, misspellings, the wrong things said.  The list goes on and on but you really need to put time into planning it all out. From point a to z and you should be able to adjust anything in case something doesn't go your way. Don't wait to the last minute to get a logo or you could be disappointed that you have to wait for redraws and revisions and you just don't have the time for that. That's your fault and not the designers and you should not take it out on the artist or he or she will become frustrated and will be more than likely to push your project aside, dreading it every minute and then trying to rush through it because you couldn't be patient. That's the last thing you want to do with an online logo designer.

The question I get the most before any client purchased a logo from me is basically this. What is the difference between a vector logo design and a raster image? That's an easy question really. A vector graphic is a design that can be stretched to any size and will never lose quality. For example let's say you wanted to stretch your logo to the size of a billboard and if you do it with a raster image, it's going to become pixelated and distorted. Blurry and just wrong. You will lose business without good clean crisp graphics. A vector design will come out smooth when stretched to those sizes. There will be no distortion nor will it become blurry. Another question is what are cmyk colors. In short, cmyk colors are used for printing. Without the right colors the exact color or hues and shades might not come out right and the effect you were going for will lose it's ability to target your client.

I'm going to tell you about stationery designs and why you need them for your business if you're shipping out products, offering a service or want to spread around the name quickly. Stationery designs usually consist of a letterhead, business card and an envelope design.  With a professional business card design, remember you will only have ten seconds to impress that potential client or otherwise you will lose him.  Don't fall victim to bad design that will lower your sales and not increase them.  A good way to spread around your name quick is to put it on shirts and spread it around. Get stickers for your business and you'll be able to target one heck of an audience. With those contact your designer and ask him or her about stickers and other promotional material. You can go really far with just one method but if you can get your act together and produce for every type of marketing then you're really going to grow fast and effortlessly after the initial designs are put together and the products are done.

An effective logo is of course simple like I told you but one thing you have to remember that is you make a cluttered logo then you will be paying for it, not only in a decrease in sales and people remembering your logo but in printing costs and that's why it's important to get a logo that works and is cost efficient at the print shop. Using a bunch of colors is not recommended because of the printing costs and it just won't look good in a logo design. There should be no more than 2 or 3 colors in your logo to be an effective logo design. Now of course that depends on your market and where you are marketing but I that's why you plan it all out in the beginning.  A good example of a complex logo would be that something that has more than 3 elements in there.  What do I mean by an element? Well basically it's an object in the logo. For example, let's say you have a business selling duck hunting equipment. In the logo there would be a pond, a duck and some weeds or something around those lines. Those are what I like to call elements and it's best to have 1 or two elements in a logo to really convey the message you're trying to go for. Without the right elements with your design it could again fail. You need to describe what you do as quick as possible, because nobody has attention span and they get bored very easily. Grab and keep their attention with the proper marketing material.

Now why it's best to get a professional logo design from a graphic artist instead of using some software that you're learning or a template you found on some site. If you use either you could be wasting way too much time learning the software or the template is used by thousands of others and that will leave you lost at sea.  Imagine the internet as the ocean and to be found you're going to have to have one heck of signal to find you. Well that's what a logo is. Plain and simple.

Another thing you need to remember is let the artist be the artist. He or she will create you an amazing logo design that will actually work well for your business. It might happen to be that you don't like the logo but it's a serious money maker and you need to realize that we are not here to create pretty pictures for you. We are here to make you as much money as possible and to grow really fast and at that point the designer will grow. If you're lazy with the design and never push it to it's potential then you are just a fool. Don't be fooled by those who say everything is too hard, because they are either trying to hold you back or they just don't have any ambitions in life. To say the least I'm not impressed with most designers these days, they don't push it to the limit and most use premade logo templates and it's unfortunate because it was an industry of standards. Where have they gone to? Outsourcing and those charging very little but you're supporting the little guy in most cases that way.  Unfortunately most are no good and most of the logos they produce will not make you any money.

A strong image can be something very clever. Even if the person has to think about it and if that's the clientele you're trying to target then something smart would work.  If you're targeting lower end people and those who are amazed with blinking lights, then I would suggesting putting some bling bling in the logo. It will attract those who like sparkles and well we all know there are plenty of people like that.

Well if you're ready to start your online logo design for your business today then I would suggest using an online logo studio that knows what they are doing and only if you love their portfolio. Remember if you don't, you are going to fail when it comes to a logo and if you are just going on the price alone.
